Оборудование: презентация, фильм, аудиодиск, раздаточный материал, учебник. I. Организационный момент. T. Good morning boys and girls. Today we shall have a surprise excursion. We’ll go to London and observe some famous sights which people know all over the world. As we come across many names of London’s interesting places, I want you to look at the blackboard and read the names after me. ^ II. Фонетическая зарядка. Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Big Ben, Trafalgar square, Buckingham Palace, the Natural History museum, the Globe theatre. III. Речевая зарядка. T. Good of you. Well, children look at the screen, imagine that you’ve come to London and you go on an excursion over London. Watch, listen and try to understand everything. (Children watch the film “London is the residence of English Queens and Kings”) Questions after watching and listening. T. 1. Do you like the film? 2. What interesting places and things have you seen? 3. Would you like to visit London? Why? 4. Do you think that London is worth visiting? T. Have you understood my last question? Can you translate the last word combination? IV. Устная речь. 1. T. Children look at the black board. It’s a new word combination to you. To be worth doing something. to be worth + Ving am are is T. (показывает книгу) I have read a book. It is very interesting. I think it is worth reading. I (показывает диск)have watched this film. It is fantastic. This film is worth watching. Do you understand me? Then try to translate it. What is worth doing? What verbs can we use? Make up your own word combinations. Ps. To be worth seeing, to be worth watching, to be worth visiting, organizing, reading and so on. 2. Translate the sentences from Russian into English. 1. Эту книгу стоит прочитать. 2. Разные страны стоит посетить. 3. «Властелин колец» стоит посмотреть. 4. Красную площадь стоит увидеть. 5. Вечеринку стоит организовать. 3. T. Then children look at the blackboard. Do you think that the following sentences are true or false? (дети читают предложения и высказывают свои предположения) London is a big and dull city. P1. It’s false. I think London is worth visiting. There are a lot of historical places. It’s quite expensive to visit London museums. P2. It’s true. I think London is an expensive city. There are few theatres in London. London is worth visiting. T. Very well. You have sheets of paper on your desks with a short text. Let’s read the text and check your answers. Dr. Johnson said “When a man is tired of London he is tired of life”. This saying is now very well known but it is still true. There are hundreds of historic buildings, galleries and museums. Most museums are free. There are parks, over 80 theatres and even more cinemas. ( дети читают текст и проверяют свои ответы. Отвечают были они правы или нет и почему) T. Were you right, that London is not a dull city? P. Yes, I was. (and so on) 3. T. Answer one more question. If you were in London, what place would you visit? Why? (Презентация с видами Лондона, поможет ребятам дать ответ на вопрос)  (примерные ответы) P1. I would like to visit Westminster Abbey. I want to see a coronation chair and the place where famous people of England berried. P2. I think that the Tower of London is worth visiting. As it is the oldest building in London. Also I can see ravens which are the symbols of the Tower. 4. T. Now children you will work in groups. I’ll give you the jigsaw sentences, your task is to make up dialogues and act them out. Dialogue 1. - Have you ever been to London’s museums? - Yes, sure. - Oh, did you? I have not been there. Is it worth visiting? - Of course, I have. I went to the British museum a year ago. Dialogue 2. - Have you ever been to the Tower of London? - No, not yet. -Oh I’ve got a lot of impressions. It’s worth visiting. Really? I want to visit it then. - Let’s arrange the day and the time. - Well, I have some time tomorrow. When is the Tower open to visitors? - Daily from 9 till 5. Let’s meet at 12 a.m. - Ok, bye then - See you tomorrow. Dialogue 3. - Have you ever been to London? - Yes, of course. It’s the best city I’ve ever been to. - What places of interest are worth visiting there? - All of them. But I liked Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. - What were you impressed by? - London’s parks and gardens. They are full of trees, grass, flowers and water. ^ V. Чтение. T. Marvelous children. Well, children we’ve come to the last point of our excursion. And this is Westminster Palace, where English Parliament works. We’ll go inside the Parliament and learn more about it’s work. (дети выполняют упр.21, на стр.55,57) ^ VI. Рефлексия. В качестве рефлексии детям можно предложить короткие тексты о достопримечательностях Лондона, о которых говорили на уроке. Учитель, читает их, ребята слушают и отгадывают. It’s in the center of London. It is named after the battle. At that battle admiral Nelson beat Napoleon. There is Nelson’s column in the centre of it. (Trafalgar square) It’s named after its builder. But its official name is the Great Bell of Westminster. It’s a clock tower. (Big Ben) This museum is in London. At this museum you can learn about the history of plants, animals and minerals. (The Natural History museum) In different time it was a fortress, a palace, a prison and now it is the museum. It is the place where you can see ravens and their guards who are called beefeaters. (The Tower) This is a famous place where all English kings and queens were crowned. For a long time the Stone of Destiny from Scotland was here. (Westminster Abbey) It is the official London residence of the queen and the Royal family.
