THE GENERAL THEORY OF TOURISM AND TOUR INDUSTRY

  5. Objective, general description:

The program is aimed at preparing masters for research, organizational, managerial, service and innovational activity.

The areas studied within the program include: current state and perspective development of the theory of tourism and the tour industry, the problematics of its methodology development, the concepts of social functions and forms of activity, the tendencies of its in-depth development, the laws of tourism functioning and evolution, the ways and conditions of strengthening its role as the optimization factor of the healthy way of life generation process, harmonization of the achievement of a personhood, growth of the labor capacity of a society, scientific background of the improvement of the state government system of the travel industry regulation, applied problematics of using new research results to rationalize the process of breeding of social, psychological and culture necessities of an individual, its influence that develops people’s adaptive abilities and their capacity.

Through the program, the following subjects are studied:

  • tour business enterprise economics;

  • tour product and its marketability;

  • effective sale of a tour product;

  • tax system in tour industry;

  • corporate culture and personnel management in tour companies;

  • statistics in tourism.

HISTORICAL CULTURE STUDIES

(HISTORY OF CULTURE)

  5. Objective, general description

The program is aimed at preparing masters to research, managerial, productive and technological, cultural-educating, teaching, project-analyzing and expert kinds of activity.

The program includes studying the problems of culture genesis, linguistic and ethnical differentiation of nations; realization of principles of culture typology, ways of modeling culture processes in history; learning of general and peculiar traits of cultures in different areas throughout the world, understanding the possibilities and borders of their comparative study, defining historical types of cultures and types of cultural-historical inheritance; ability to critically analyze the experience of the world history and, in its context, the history of Russian culture; learning the usage of research tools and procedures of work with testimonies of history and theory of culture.


Through the program, the following subjects are studied:

  • cultural communications and the peculiarities of the cross-cultural communication in the 20th century, the modern concepts of inter-relation, interference and inter-relation of the elite, folk and mass culture.

    • new technologies in culture, its career opportunities in professional activity, the preservation of cultural and natural heritage by the society, learning the practical skills in culture studies (consulting in culture studies, management in culture, project activities, classification and codification of artifacts and its testimonies).

SOCIOLOGY OF MANAGEMENT

  4. Program: Sociology of management

  5. Objective, general description:

Objective: professional training of specialists for social process management and analytical activity of various social spheres.

General description: the program includes professional training in management in various fields of society, acquiring skills in informational analysis, which is used both in business environment and social and non-profit spheres, in state and municipal administration. The master’s program is aimed at professional education of sociology students on the basis of bachelor’s and specialist’s education. During the study, students are given an opportunity to take entrance exams for post-graduate studies in philosophy and foreign language. Students participate in seminars and undertake internships in different organizations.

The graduation department is the department of sociology, which has 15 years of experience in educating sociologists for our region. Through research practice, masters are supposed to participate in planning and performance of marketing and social research ordered by companies and enterprises of the Udmurt Republic and organized by the Center for social research of UdSU. In practical education program, innovative ways of teaching are used, including business trainings, business games. Several disciplines include lections by top specialists and leaders of companies and enterprises of the Udmurt Republic.

  • forms and methods of social-managerial system;

  • specifics and social effectiveness of self-management, representative and administrative management;

  • control as a function of management;

  5. Objective, general description

Objective – professional training of specialists for research and educational work, and a nalytics in culture.

General description: The program provides training in the field of social-cultural research of different spheres of modern social life. Under the scheme, modern methodics of social-cultural and social-anthropological research are studied, which includes analysis of human existence in different spheres of culture. Master’s Academic degree program is oriented on professional education of sociology students on the basis of bachelor’s and specialist education. During the study, students are given an opportunity to take entrance exams for post-graduate studies in philosophy and foreign language. Students participate in seminars and undertake internships in different organizations.

The graduation department is the department of philosophy and sociology of culture. The current concept in terms of which research is made is visual anthropology, or the research of representing culture through images – photos, cinema, art works.

The department actively cooperates with colleagues from Russian institutes. On regular basis, the department works together with scholars of social anthropology and social work department of Saratov State Technical University (SGTU) and Russian State Humanitarian University (RSHU).

The work made by the research team had for several years been supported by the RHSF (Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation) grants.
