Цель: совершенствовать навыки коммуникативной речи по теме.
Организационный момент: (приветствие)
T: Hello, teenagers.Good morning. I`m glad to see you. Seat down, please, and let`s start our English lesson. Who is on duty today? Tell us about the day.
S: Today is the 16-th of March. It`s Wednesday. It`s Spring. The weather is good. I like it.

T: Look at the pictures. Describe the weather.
S: It`s hot, sunny. The weather is nice.
T: Read the poem: «Travel». [Slide 1]What shall we speak about at our lesson?
Today we are to talk, listen, read about summer travelling. [slide2]
[slide3] Read the motto of the lesson. What does it mean?

T: Where can we go during our holiday? [slide4]
S1: We can go abroad.
S2: We can go to the mountains.

S4: We can travel into space.

S6: We can make a trip along the river.
T: How can we travel? [slide5]
S1: We can travel by train.
S2 ….by car.
S3: …on horse back.
S4: …by air (plane).
S5: We can hitchhike.
S6: We can go backpack.
S7: We can travel on board a ship.

T: Read the conversation and make up your own dialogue.
A: Where are you going to spend your holiday, Ban?
B: We may go abroad. I’m not sure. My mum wants to go to the USA. I’d like to go there, too.
A: Will you travel by sea or by air?
B: We may travel by sea.
A: It’s cheaper, isn’t it?
B: It may be cheaper, but it takes a long time.
A: I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourselves.
B: So am I.

T: Let’s practice listening. Please, open your Students` book at page 30 and have a look at ex. 2 . Listen to Julia talking on the phone to her Uncle Tom. Complete.

T: Let’s listen to the student who is telling you about the islands.
S: I’d like to tell you some information about that amazing place in our planet. Today Ionian Islands are very famous for visiting tourists from all over the world.
There are some topics on the screen you can see. I’m going to discuss them.
For example, first, you can rent a little ship or a yacht there, and then you can enjoy water skiing or take a scooter. And finally you can relax in a beach café.
So, after all, we can say, that Ionian Islands need our visiting and it’s very beautiful and amazing place.
T: Would you like to go there? Why?

T: Open your books p.30. ex 1. Let’s read a letter from the islands.
Complete with the missing sentences ( a-f ).

2) Special task for those who’d like to try themselves as interpreters. Translate the poem: «Travel».
