Задачи урока: 1) познакомить учащихся со структурой Британского парламента, его работой и лексикой по теме; 2) развивать умения говорения по теме; 3) развивать умение найти требуемую информацию в воспринимаемом на слух тексте; 4) формировать умение объяснять те или иные факты, описанные в тексте. Цели урока: расширение знаний учащихся о Британской политической системе, расширение кругозора учащихся, развитие навыков аудирования. Оборудование: аудиокассета, магнитофон, компьютер, компьютерная презентация, экран, проектор, картинки по теме, таблица с предложениями, заготовки для постеров. Ход урока. 1)Оргмомент. Беседа с дежурными по календарю. ^ T: Let’s read the topic of our lesson. ( на доске записана тема урока) What place is it –the Palace of Westminster? What is another name of this place? P-s: The Houses of Parliament. T: Why is it called so? P-s: Because there are two Houses in it: the House of Lords and the House of Commons. T: Yes, you are right. And today we’ll speak about these two Houses, we’ll speak about people, objects and places in the Palace of Westminster. ^ . T: But first of all let’s repeat the words of the previous lesson. Read the words on the blackboard after me and translate them. (на доске слова) To vote, to approve, to consist of, state, government, to inherit, hereditary peer, to work on bills, to be called, to be elected, Prime Minister, head of state. ^ T: Translate my sentences from Russian into English using these words.
^ T: Look at the blackboard. Here are some mistakes that people often make about the British state and its Parliament. Correct them. Use the expressions from the conversation bricks and explain your ideas. (на доске разговорные клише и предложения с ошибками). Conversation bricks: Many people think that; some people think that; everybody says that; But in fact, but actually, but in reality, but don’t forget…. Mistakes: .1.The British Parliament sits in two buildings. 2. All the people in Parliament are called MPs. 3. The Prime Minister is the head of state. 4. The Queen forms the government. 5. MPs are elected every year. 6. All the people in the House of Lords inherit their places. Model: Many people think that the British Parliament sits in two buildings but in fact it is one building. P-s correct the mistakes. 5) Введение новой лексики по теме. Упражнение 1. T: Open your textbooks on page 55, ex. 1.Listen and read the new words. ( ученики за диктором читают новые слова) Lord Chancellor, Labour Party, Conservative Party, Speaker, to preside, to debate, chamber, arch, David Lloyd George, Winston Churchill. 6) Выполнение упр.2. Установление соответствия между фотографиями, названиями и описаниями, перевод названий и описаний для снятия трудностей при аудировании. T: Read the task. a) But first of all, let’s read the names of the objects people and places and match them with their photos. (ученики читают названия, переводят некоторые с помощью учителя и находят соответствующие фотографии). b) T: And now let’s read the descriptions of all these things and match them with their photos. (учащиеся читают описания предметов и сопоставляют их с фотографиями; некоторые описания переводят). 7) Выполнение упр. 3: использование грамматического материала раздела 2 (придаточные определительные предложения) для обеспечения более прочного запоминания новой информации упр.2. T: Let’s make some sentences about the photos in ex. 2, using the words where, who, which, that. Let’s do it orally. This table will help you. Match parts of the sentences from box A and box B using the words where, who, which, that. Box A Box B
Ученики выполняют упражнение самостоятельно в течение 5 минут. T: Read your sentences. What is the part of the first sentence? P-s: N8. This is the throne where the Queen sits when she opens the parliament. ^ T: Now let’s try to guess: which of the objects and people are in the House of Lords and which are in the House of Commons. Explain your ideas. What do you think about the throne? Where is it? Where is the Woolsack? The third thing is the Mace. Is it in the House of Lords or in the House of Commons? Use the description of the Mace in ex.2 e. There are two people on the photos: the Lord Chancellor and the Speaker. What do you think where they are? Use conversation bricks in your answers. P-s: I think the throne is in the House of Lords because the Queen sits on it when she opens the Parliament. …… ^ T: Now let’s watch and listen to the text and check your ideas. 10) Выполнение упр. 6. Чтение с выборочным пониманием нужной информации (scanning). T: Your task is to answer 8 questions. But I think you shouldn’t read the whole text to answer these questions. You can use one of reading strategies. What reading strategies do you know? (reading for detail, scanning, skimming) What reading strategy should we use here? P-s: Scanning. Представьте, в какой форме вам может встретиться ответ. T: So scan the text and find the right answer. You have 4 minutes. Затем идет проверка ответов. 11) Подведение итогов. T: Thank you for your answers. Let’s sum up our lesson. I want to divide you into two groups. Here are statements about two Houses. The task of group N1 is to choose true statements about the House of Lords. The task of group 2 is to choose true statements about the House of Commons. Stick the statements on these posters.
