Цели и задачи:
Учебный аспект: повторение активной лексики, развитие навыков неподготовленной речи, формирование коммуникативной культуры школьников, формирование культуры устных выступлений, формирование умения слушать.
Развивающий аспект: развитие умения подготовки связного высказывания по теме, самостоятельности, умения сотрудничать.
^ : воспитание уважения культуре и традициям разных стран и своей родной страны.
Форма урока: презентация.
Оборудование: проспекты, фотографии достопримечательностей России, Карелии, стран ближнего и дальнего зарубежья, подготовленная учителем и учениками презентация в программе PowerPoint, проектор, экран.
Вступительное слово учителя.
Teacher: Good morning dear friends! Today we are going to have a wonderful trip to different countries. We are going to speak about pros and cons travelling abroad or across Russia.
I want you to warm-up and do some exercises brushing up your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary.
- Make up a mind-map and say what you associate the notion “Country” with.
Now let us see if you have remembered all the words connected with this notion. What other words haven`t been mentioned?
Look at the screen and repeat the names of some countries after me.
Now find a country that is different from others. Try to explain why.

- Now a crossword puzzle. Try to guess nine names of countries. When it is done, you will find the name of the 10th country. So the name of this country is MAURITIUS, in Russian – МАВРИКИЙ. Do you know anything about this country? It is a small island country. I`ll ask Pupil1 and Pupil2 to find some information about it in the Internet or in special literature. At our next lesson they will tell us about this country.
- Now I want you to change the dialogue into reported speech.
- There are many countries on the vocational map. People may choose this or that country for travelling. Try to explain why people travel.
Would you like to visit it as well? Why? You may ask him any questions you`ve got.
M.C. - I am crazy about travelling. I have just visited many foreign countries. I have travelled across Russia. Now I would like to have a rest somewhere in the North of Russia. What would you recommend me?
T. A. –What about Karelia?
M.C. – Karelia? I have never been to Karelia. I do not know much about it.
T. A. –We have some leaflets about this region. You can have a look at them.
M. C. - If I am not mistaken Karelia is situated in the North-West of Russia. What is the weather like there?
T. A. – In summer the average temperature is 13 degrees above zero.
M. C. – It is OK. What about Karelian nature?
T. A. – Karelia is a land of magical beauty. It is a land of rivers and lakes. Great forests cover its territory.
M. C. – Many rivers and lakes! Can I go fishing there?
T. A. – Sure! Besides, many tourists go rafting along its rivers.
M. C. – Super! It will be exciting. Is Karelia rich in interesting places?
T. A. - In Karelia you will have a chance to visit the museum of wooden architecture “Kizhi” which is situated on the picturesque island. Also you will like the capital of Karelia – Petrozavodsk. It is not large but rather attractive.
M. C. –Thank you for your advice. I will think it over. I like the idea of visiting Karelia.
T. A. –You will have a good rest in Karelia. No doubt about it.
